Macarthur FC has strengthened its attack with the signature of Tunisian international and former Ligue 1 player Saîf-Eddine Khaoui for the remainder of the 2024-2025 season.
Currently sixth in the Isuzu UTE A-League, the highest-level professional men’s soccer league in Australia and New Zealand, the Macarthur Bulls continue building their squad for the finals series.
The 29-year-old attacking midfielder Saîf-Eddine Khaoui has committed himself to the club until the end of the season, to bring his experience and technique to the club. He joins former teammate Valère Germain, with whom he played for Olympique de Marseille between 2016 and 2021.
Khaoui began his professional career in 2014 with Tours FC in France’s second professional division (Ligue 2). After two seasons, he was transferred to Ligue 1’s Olympique de Marseille, where he was loaned out a year later to ES Troyes AC and then SM Caen.
His career in France came to an end after two years with Clermont Foot, where he played 58 games in all competitions and scored nine goals.
Saîf-Eddine Khaoui was also selected for the 2018 World Cup with Tunisia, where he played in one match before his team was eliminated in the first round.
After a year spent in the United Arab Emirates, Khaoui joins a team in need of reinforcements following the departure of two strikers during the January transfer window.
“Saîf is a player that will certainly add quality to our squad,” Macarthur head coach Mile Sterjovski explains. “I’m sure he will excite the football fans at our club and around the league with his dribbling and passing.”
Khaoui is the third player signed by Macarthur during this January window.
