Meet French, Australian and international leaders, learn about various topics, share experiences with other professionals during networking times around food & drinks…. this is what the 2019 Schneider Electric Business Forum organised by the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry will offer for this 5th edition. Bolstered by its success, this year’s Forum is taking place in five Australian cities: Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne. After a great start in Adelaide, it will next take place in Sydney on Tuesday 8 October 2019 from 7am to 2:30pm gathering prestigious guests.
Business people, economists, and diplomats will all be brought together in a few days at The Schneider Electric Business Forum in Sydney. At the conference, they will debate a common current theme: “Social Licence to Operate: Reinventing the Growth Engine.”
One of the featured speakers is CEO of Naval Group, Hervé Guillou, who is known for securing the “contract of the century.” He commandeered the submarine deal between France and Australia, resulting in a 34-million-dollar transaction for twelve submarines. He knows what it means to negotiate and lock in success for business.
Born into a family of Breton sailors, the sea is in his blood. He has floated to the top of his career with a solid history working in Defence industries. Guillou demonstrated his specialisation in nuclear submarines in the 1980s, and then went on to become an advisor to Yves Sillard, a delegate general in the Directorate General of Armament.
The Franco-Australian submarine deal is certainly not his first success in bilateral engagement. In 2003, he was CEO of Space Transportation for the then European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company where he was in the Franc-German division working on Ariane launchers (rocket launchers).
In 2017, Guillou was awarded the honour of Officer of the Legion of Honour and in 2018, he was named Chairman of the France-Australia Business Council of MEDEF International.
Whether you are interested in defence technology or international business cooperation, he is certainly a speaker not to be missed!
For your chance to encounter Hervé Guillou in-person, The Schneider Electric Business Forum in Sydney will take place 8 October 7:30am – 2:30pm. Book here
